A memory of Emerson, 1921?

Sutton's recollections of her friendship as a child with Ralph Waldo Emerson. The typescript was composed by Elizabeth J. Woodward in approximately 1921 from Sutton's letters. Sutton met Emerson through her family in Chicago during the Civil War. Emerson sent Sutton a list of poems he recommended she read and, although the original list was destroyed in the Chicago fire, the collection also contains Sutton's recollection of that list.
