Wilbur Brice O'Brien (1921-1982) served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II as a bomber pilot and was shot down over France in 1944. He spent 11 months as a prisoner of war before being freed in 1945. O'Brien served as legal counsel for the National Coal Association from 1946-1957 and the American Mining Congress from 1957-1963.
