Lucy Gearhart papers, 1834-1961.

The Lucy Gearhart papers document Gearhart's interest in the temperance movement. The "Temperance materials" series contains original documents, ephemera, artifacts, and other materials that comprised part of her temperance collection. The "Personal papers" series contains her personal correspondence (primarily with dealers), writings, notes, bibliographies, and other research materials. Some files include transcriptions of original documents and verbatim copies from books in Gearhart's hand.
