Annotations on Shakespeare [manuscript], ca. 1775.

Notes, both textual and explanatory, on the plays of Shakespeare. They are keyed to the 1773 Johnson-Steevens edition, the references running throughout the ten volumes. From internal evidence it appears that Steevens had sent Tollet some annotations prepared for the 1778 edition, and the present notes were prepared to correct these. They are in two series, the first filling two memorandum books, the second consisting of seven leaves ripped from another such book.

44 leaves (2 blank) ; 19.5 x 16 cm.
