The collection contains Lucas' Civil War correspondence with his wife, Mary Longley Lucas; Commission papers (1862); a certificate and menu from the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States (1889 and 1894); two Grand Army of the Republic Encampment booklets (1893, 1894); and a seating card for the dedication of the Oliver P. Morton Monument (1907). Also included is a copy of U.S. Grant's address to the Union Army (1865); a guide to Richmond, Va. and the surrounding battlefields; and an address by Lucas on Appomatox (1905).
