Photographs collected by Kessler R. Cannon (1915-1986), mostly during his career as a member of the Oregon state legislature and as Director of the Department of Environmental Quality from 1974-1976. The photos date from 1967-1983 and depict Cannon's swearing-in ceremony, views of the Pine Mountain Observatory and the dedication of the Steens Mountain Recreation Lands, and photos of Oregon governor Tom McCall, including a series of photographs of Oregon governor Tom McCall at various state beaches on May 13, 1967, investigating a controversy related to beach use.
