John McClellan, Jr. account books, 1828-1893.

Five volumes belonging to John McClellan, Jr., son of Woodstock, Connecticut, lawyer John McClellan. The first two detail McClellan's expenses while at school, including the years before, during, and after his attendance at Yale College. McClellan accounted for books, tuition, board, sundries, and entertainment expenses. Also detailed are expenses for a trip west. The third volume is a cash book, beginning at the time of McClellan Sr.'s death. McClellan Jr.'s fourth volume is accounts of his employees, detailing their pay rates and all other expenses they incurred. Employee accounts continue in the fifth volume, along with notes about cows being purchased.
