This small collection illuminates Hibbard's dedication to research, writing, and teaching in the first half of the 20th century. Series III contains questionnaires and letters sent to Miss Hibbard in 1954 by Oberlin zoology and pre-medical majors with information about their professional and personal careers. The correspondence mainly covers her career and the teaching of science.

Hope Hibbard earned the B.A. degree (1916) and the M.A. degree (1918) at the University of Missouri, the Ph. D. degree (1921) from Bryn Mawr College, and the D. es Sc. degree in zoology (1928) from the Sorbonne. She joined the Oberlin faculty in 1928 and retired at the rank of Professor in 1961. In 1952, she was appointed the Adelia A. Field Johnston Professor of Zoology.
