Autograph letter signed, dated : Vienna, 17 April 1760, to Charles Carlani in Bologna, 1760 Apr. 17.

Saying that from Count Durazzo's letter, which he will receive with this one, Carlani will understand how useless has been Metastasio's desire to embrace him in this country ("quanto sono stato inutile le mie premure di abbracciarvi in questi paesi"), and expressing the hope for a happier occasion to be of service to Carlani; on the verso is the draft of Carlani's reply, dated Vienna, 27 April 1760.
