Concerning Ruskin's long-time obsession with Rose La Touche, and addressed to his confidante Mrs. Cowper.Most of the letters were written during the three years after Ruskin's proposal of marriage to Rose and before her final rejection of the proposal. Included is her letter to him explaining that he must wait three years for her decision, and her letter of farewell, which was apparently never delivered to Ruskin.
