Parker family correspondence and papers, 1776-1912.

Primarily correspondence of the Parker family of Norwich, Connecticut, particularly that of Timothy Parker (1836-1905) with his first wife, Sallie A. Waterman Parker; his mother, Betsey M. Parker; sisters, Sarah and Lydia; and his second wife, Clementine Moseley Parker; as well as papers concerning his Civil War service. Also includes letters to Sarah Fitch Parker from her husband, John Parker, and her son, Timothy Parker (1804-1832). Contains correspondence of Timothy Parker (1736-1797) to his wife and children while involved in the West India trade.

Timothy Parker (1736-1797) was captain of the Oliver Cromwell during the Revolutionary War and lived in Norwich, Connecticut. His son, John Parker, married Sarah Fitch, and was also a sea captain. Their grandson, Timothy Parker (1836-1905), son of John Henry and Betsey M. Parker, served in the 18th Connecticut Regiment, Company D, during the Civil War.
