Autograph letter signed, dated : [London], to Mr. [Joseph] Bennett, 1874 Nov. 6.

Concerning his Caprice [for piano and orchestra] composed many years before, saying that he never wrote out the piano part, and adding that the last time he heard it at the Philharmonic it was played by Kate Loder (now Lady Thomson) and conducted by Costa--"long after our misunderstanding."
