Expressing pleasure that they will be together so often in the new year, expressing the hope that a future concert of the Altenburg Tonkünstler-Versammlung will include at least one symphonic work by Russia's new and significant composers: Tchaikowski, Borodino [sic], and Rimski Korsakoff--his suggestions would be Zádko by Rimsky-Korsakov and the "ziemlich classische" symphony by Borodin--, adding that the scores must be ordered from Bessel in Petersburg since thay are not to be found in Leipzig, saying that this letter is being delivered by the Baroness von Meyendorff, mentioning Riedel, etc.
