Saying that he can no longer serve on either the musical or literary jury, that it is excessively painful to receive injuries as reward for their complacency, complaining bitterly of the intrigues that surround him and of enemies, saying that it is a "fatalité" that can only be exorcized by renouncing work, that he is no longer so in love with glory to achieve it by baseness and at the price of his peace of mind, mentioning the comte de Rémusat, etc.
