Wilhelm Ganz was a conductor, pianist, organist, violinist, and composer born in Mainz, Germany in 1833. HIs father Adolf Ganz was Kapellmeister of the Mainz Opera. Father and son visited London in 1848 and emigrated there in 1851. Wilhelm Ganz earned his reputation as an accompanist of famous singers, including Jenny Lind and Adelina Patti. He became sole conductor of Henry Wylde's New Philharmonic Society orchestra in 1879, changing the concert presentations to "Mr. Ganz's Orchestral Concerts"...
