Convocation addressed by the commander-in-chief of the Monterey expedition to the officers and priests accompanying him, in order to determine the advisability of abandoning the search for Monterey in view of the scarcity of provisions or, alternatively, awaiting at Punta de Pinos the possible arrival of a supply ship; followed by varying recommendations from Portolá himself, Costansó, Rivera y Moncada, and Fages, their final votes in favor of return to San Diego and a report from there to the Viceroy and José de Gálvez, and an expression of concurrence from Fathers Gómez and Crespí. With the signatures of the above-mentioned officers and priests.
