Paul Slentz Collection.

A collection of materials relating to South Africa and apartheid and especially to Vanderbilt University's hosting of the North American finals of the Davis Cup world tennis tournament in the spring of 1978, which was the subject of protest because South Africa participated. Includes periodical issues, newspaper clippings, flyers, one item of correspondence, and other printed documents.

Paul Slentz received a master's degree from Vanderbilt in 1979 and a master's of divinity in 1998. He was active in the nonviolent protests concerning the hosting of the Davis Cup tennis tournament at Vanderbilt University in 1978, and also during the TennCare health care funding crisis of 2004 and 2005.
