Also included: letters, accounts and papers of the Gibson and Pierson families, 1806-1874; and genealogical materials relating to the Pierson, Walsworth and Redington families.

Edward Brown Walsworth served as pastor of the Presbyterian Church in East Avon, NY, before sailing to California in 1852 as a representative of the American Home Missionary Society. He organized the first Presbyterian Church of Oakland, CA, in 1853 but soon left to become pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Marysville, also filling the post of Yuba County Superintendent of Schools.
