Allen Stanley Eskind, a lifelong resident of Nashville, Tenn., was born on Apr. 8, 1921, and graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1942. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1947. He served as a Navigation Officer on board the USS LCI(D) 227 and attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
