Mary Ferrand Henderson, daughter of Elizabeth Brownrigg Cain and John Steele Henderson of Salisbury, N.C., lived much of her adult life in Chapel Hill, N.C., with her sister, Elizabeth Brownrigg Cotten. Henderson served as vice-chairman of the North Carolina Democratic Party, 1922-1930.
