Winfield Scott (June 13, 1786 – May 29, 1866) was an American military commander and political candidate. Gideon Johnson Pillow (1806-1878) was born in Williamson County, Tennessee. He practiced law with James Knox Polk (1795-1849), the 11th presdient of the United States. John W. Geary was a lawyer, politician and Union general in the Civil War (1861-1865). He was born in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania on 30 December 1819.
