The collection consists primarily of historical files collected by Theodore Ash, publicity director of the Cramp Shipbuilding Company, Philadelphia, 1941-45, pertaining to the William Cramp & Sons Ship and Engine Building Company which operated from 1830-1927 and built the facility taken over and operated by Cramp Shipbuilding Company with government subsidization during World War II.
