Michael Bezilla collection on Central Pennsylvania railroad and mining history, 1951-2010.

This collection documents central Pennsylvania's railroads and mining history in prints, slides, textual records, and digital and audio CD-ROMs. Against the backdrop of Pennsylvania train yards and landscapes, the collection includes images of the Baltimore and Ohio (Pennsylvania division), Penn Central, Reading, and Lehigh Valley Railroads. Also included is an example of a functioning train office, evidenced in the train sheets of the CB Junction operator. Additionally, through the images and sounds of excavating machinery, the collection provides a view of strip mining in Clearfield and Centre counties during its peak production from 1968 to 1973.
