Five folders of chiefly containing letters and cards addressed to Mr. & Mrs. James T. Lacey, Jr. (Jim and Alma) of Baltimore, Maryland from Pvt. Edward Flannagan, Pvt. Ellsworth Kooken, Sgt./Corp. Ellsworth Kooken was a cousin of Jim Lacey and served with Company D, 28th Engineers. He was deployed to France in September and was hospitalized for influenza. Sgt. Charles Grauling addresses his "Pal" in his letters and describes life in the Machine Gun Company, 313 Infantry. George A. Councell signed his letters "Uncle". Miscellaneous items include war cartoons sent to J.T. Lacey by Pvt.
