Log-book and narrative journal kept by Thomas Prince on the ship Thomas and Elizabeth as part of a fleet on several journeys: Boston to Barbados, 29 Mar. - 4 Sep. 1709; Barbados to London, 5 Sep. 1709 - 16 Mar. 1710; London to Madeira, 17 Mar. - 29 Apr. 1710; Madeira to Barbados, 30 Apr. - 2 Aug. 1710; Barbados to Great Britain, 3 Aug. - 17 Oct. 1710. The entries contain geographic coordinates, wind direction and speed, and weather, as well as descriptions of daily occurrences including incidents between the fleet and other ships, poetry, and ballads. Prince also notes stays in Barbados, Madeira, and London and other parts of England, including a stay at the latter from 17 Oct. 1710 - 30 Jan. 1711.

Thomas Prince (1687-1758) was a graduate of Harvard College, a clergyman, scholar, historian, pastor of the Old South Church in Boston, Mass. from 1718 to 1758, and author of A Chronological History of New England, in the Form of Annals (1736).
