Archer family scrapbooks, 1834-1891 [manuscript].

Two scrapbooks, one of clippings of poems, articles, and pictures from newspapers, ca. 1870s-1880s, and including University of North Carolina commencement programs for 1882, 1885-1888, and 1891, and one of news items, poems, comic Valentines, etc., 1850s and 1862-1863, compiled by young women in the Archer family, Norfolk, Va. The clippings in the latter volume are pasted in what appears to be a letter book and register of the Spanish consul in Norfolk, ca. 1831-1834. The volume is labelled "Copiador de Cartas," and includes fifty pages not covered by clippings. These pages contain copies of some letters sent and records of others, all from 1834.
