Papers of Catherine Gayle Williams, [191-]-1991 (bulk 1942-1991).

The papers contain taped interviews with Williams conducted by David A. Smith, a copy of his master's thesis based on these interviews, scrapbooks, photographs, and materials relating to her awards. Included also are her 1965 master's thesis entitled "Attitudes toward adoptions in the Negro community of Des Moines," class notes and papers from her many years as a student, materials relating to racial concerns, reports and lectures given by Williams, and correspondence and articles of tribute on the occasion of her retirement. A separate series contains publications and materials about Delta Sigma Theta, the prominent national black sorority, and the Phi Chapter in Des Moines to which Williams belonged.
