Artist, teacher, and writer; resident of Lincoln, Iowa and after retirement in 1959 due to failing eyesight, of Campbell and Saratoga, Calif. Gebers was a student and friend of Grant Wood and a member of his artists' colony in Stone City, Iowa. She completed over 3,000 paintings in her lifetime, gaining a reputation as a "regionalist" in the art world. Her work was featured in numerous exhibitions and won regional and national awards.
