Correspondence, clippings, articles, promotional materials and pamphlets concerning "Pierce's Favorite Prescription". Also included are materials on "Dr. Pierce's Pleasant Pellets," "Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery," Dr. Pierce's Invalids' Hotel, and World's Dispensary Medical Association. Also included in the collection is the publication THE PEOPLE'S MEDICAL ADVISER, published by the World Dispensary Association. Among the maladies Dr. Pierce's products claimed to treat were "women's disorders" (menstrual disturbances and menopause), indigestion, and iron deficiency. Other products distributed by Pierce included laxatives and women's health products.
