Jacob Trieber research project papers, 1872-1986.

Papers gathered by Judge Gerald Heaney in the course of his research on an article for the UALR Law Journal entitled "Jacob Trieber: Lawyer, Politician, Judge" (vol. 8, no. 3). Jacob Trieber was a Jewish lawyer and politician in Helena, Ark., who was appointed judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas in 1900. The papers include photocopies of Jacob Trieber's correspondence, journal articles, and speeches, as well as newspaper and journal articles concerning Trieber's political and judicial career. The collection also contains correspondence, research notes, and rough drafts used by Judge Heaney to complete the article.
