Correspondence, 1879-[1925].

Chiefly personal and family letters dating from 1880 to ca. 1925. Much of the correspondence is between George Stambaugh and his wife Alice R. Muhl (Stambaugh) of Bryan, Ohio, dating from the 1880's before their marriage and relating to teaching in Illinois and Louisiana, civil service, U.S. Post Office, etc. Includes also later correspondence pertaining to their two daughters, Josephine and Anna May (both OSU graduates) and son Ralph (killed in France during World War I). Includes journal (1879-1886) and scrapbook of clippings.

Teacher and U.S. civil service employee. George Stambough was born in Franklin County, Ohio and attended Ohio State University from 1875-76. He taught school for several years in Illinois and Louisiana. From 1884 until his retirement in 1925, he worked for the U.S. Post Office in Washington, D.C. Fuller was born in Mass. on Aug. 13, 1787. He moved to N.Y. (State) where he served as a member of the N.Y. Assembly and Senate. In 1837 he moved to Adrian (Mich.), where he served as a Representative from Lenawee County and Speaker of the House, 1841. Fuller also served as Assist. Postmaster under Pres. Harrison.
