Notebooks of Henry Stevenson, 1854-1888.

The three notebooks include handwritten notes regarding the history, development and surveys of several sites in Los Angeles including the Los Angeles Public Library; the City Plaza (now Pershing Square); Los Angeles Cemetery; the first primary school; and various land tracts in the city and county of Los Angeles including Santa Anita Ranch (Hollister Ranch) and the Abila Tract. The notebooks were owned by Sidney B. Reeve and some of the notes may be in his handwriting or the handwriting of George Hansen. The notebooks include hand drawn maps and copies of city ordinances.
