Papers of James Buchanan Trant consist of correspondence with officials in banks in the U.S. and abroad concerning bank policies; letters of congratulation from friends and colleagues on Trant's retirement, along with copies of Trant's replies; meeting minutes, correspondence, statements of policy, and other papers associated with the Economists' National Committee on Monetary Policy, including numerous communications from its founding member, Walter E. Spahr of Columbia University; newsletters concerning the College of Commerce at Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College; various newspaper clippings of articles concerning economics and banking; drafts of journal articles, book chapters, and speeches by Trant; and copies of journal isues in which articles of Trant and his colleagues appeared.
