Production copy of T.S. Eliot's play Murder in the Cathedral produced at the Mercury Theatre opening on All Saint's Day, November 1, 1935 at 8:30 p.m. This copy consists of pages of the original play pasted into a bound, ruled notebook in such a manner as to allow blank pages interleaving the printed pages on which are noted staging, lighting and casting directions. The copy is heavily annotated in the hands of Eliot and Elsie Fogarty, Director of the Central School of Speech and Drama at the Albert Hall. At the back of the notebook is a list of cast members with addresses. This copy previously belonged to Stuart Latham who appeared in this production as the messenger. A brief analysis by Latham is included.
