Petition by S. Nelson, wife of Isaac Nelson seeking pardon for her husband who was sentenced to transportation for seven years for stealing, or permission to accompany him to New South Wales. The petition was submitted to "Mr Granville" sic. (i.e. W.W. Grenville). Grenville's permission to Mrs Nelson to accompany her husband is included. The petition gives details on the living conditions in England during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
