Graham's letter, 1/2 sheet, saying pressure of business delayed his writing personally. 1869, Clapham House Lewes. Thanking the Old Colonists for their expression of goodwill, and speaking of the hard times after the gold discovery 480 pages. 1872, Very interesting comments on the settlement of the Colonies and the creation of a Colonial Office in London; of the difficulties because all correspondence was not handed over to it etc. acknowledges Rusden's pamphlet on the Discovery and Settlement of Port Philip. 1874, 2 letters to Rusden in England, suggesting a visit and thanking him for the Pamphlet on Hume & Hovell. The last four letters are transcribed by a daughter, because of La Trobe's blindness, but signed C.J. La Trobe, in his own hand.
