William Shakespeare was likely born April, 23, 1564; he was baptized in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 26, 1564. He grew up, had a family, and bought property in Stratford while working in London, the center of English theater. As an actor, a playwright, and a partner in a leading acting company, he became both prosperous and well-known. His parents were John and Mary Shakespeare. Ernest Henry Clark Oliphant, Elizabethan scholar, was born in Melbourne on August 14th, 1862. He was educated at Scotch College and the University of Melbourne, but did not graduate. He became an assistant librarian at the Melbourne Public Library in 1884, but in December 1888 resigned and went to Europe. He then wrote several books and upon returning to Australia, edited various newspapers in Korrumburra, Melbourne and Tasmania. He was president of the Melbourne Shakespeare Society from 1919 to...
