Washington State Canal Commission member oath of office taken by Adolph D. Schmidt, 27 March 1933.

This is a copy of the typewritten oath that Adolph Schimdt took when he became a member of the Canal Commission of the State of Washington. He signed the affadavit swearing that he would support the Constitution and laws of the State of Washington and perform his duties of the office to the best of his ability. It was signed in front of a notary public on the 27th of March 1933.

Adolph D. Schmidt was born about 1887 to Leopold and Johanna Schmidt of Olympia, WA. Leopold and his brother, founded the Olympic Brewing Company in 1896 as Capital Brewing Co. Adolph and his brothers participated in the management of the brewery and eventually took over management from their father in his later years. Adolph also owned hotels in the area.
