Representatives of the United States, the Soviet Union, Great Britain, and France organized the International Military Tribunal (IMT) in 1945 to try cases against twenty-four Nazi leaders. Between 20 November 1945 and 1 October 1946 the IMT was convened, and verdicts were handed down on 30 September and 1 October 1946. Congress passed a resolution creating a national weather service on February 9, 1870, and it was signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant. This new law directed the Secretary of War to take meterological observations and provide warnings of approaching storms. The Brevet Brigadier General Albert J.
