Mrs. Gunterman discusses the radical movement in the 1930s, farm labor issues, conscientous objector camps during World War II, child care in California, consumer issues, welfare issues, passage of Prop 13 in 1978, and issues concerning seniors. For the years 1967 to 1986 she also discusses procedures of lobbying.

Emma H. Gunterman, born in Amsterdam in 1915, was raised in a comfortable family. Coming to New York in the 1930s she became active in the peace movement and the Socialist Party. After her marriage to Joe Gunterman, a conscientious objector during World War II, she lived and worked in farm labor and CO camps.
