This interview deals with Stanford Shaw's two terms in the state assembly (1951-54) and his service in the state senate (1957-61). He comments on lobbying and the effect of incumbency in relationship to the state legislature.

Stanford C. Shaw, a practicing attorney, was elected to the California State Assembly in 1950 to represent the Seventy-Second District. His principal committee service during his two terms was: Agriculture, Judiciary, and Public Health. He sponsored legislation to create the California Law Revision Commission.
