Soldier's Relief Hospital Register of Patients in Private Quarters 1863-1865

The Soldier's Relief Hospital Register of Patients in Private Quarters, 1864, 1 volume, is a small notebook detailing the name, rank, regiment, company, date admitted into the hospital, date admitted into private quarters, disease, and final disposition of Confederate soldiers admitted into private quarters at the Soldier's Relief Hospital. A portion of the register also includes the home address of the soldiers. The end of the register also contains a list of food supplies, and has calculations in both the front and back. The names "Robert Kelly" and "Joseph W. Caldwell" are written at the beginning of the book. The register covers the period of July 1863 to February 1865.

The Soldier's Relief Hospital opened in Charleston on December 16, 1861. The Soldier's Relief Association, an organization of Charleston women founded to provide Confederate soldiers with clothing, bedding, and hospital supplies, created the hospital.
