George T.M. Shackelford correspondence files, 1984-1995

Series 3.2 contains chronological correspondence concerning the collection, acquisitions, exhibitions, galleries, other institutions and the general public. There is considerable correspondence with Mary Ralph Lowe regarding acquisitions, and with Theresa Mary Morton at the Royal Library of Windsor concerning exhibitions, particularly the Leonardo Anatomy of Man exhibition (1991-1992). There is also documentation of the planning of a Degas landscapes exhibition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his exhibition of landscape monotypes at Durand-Ruel in 1892. Series 3.3 contains alphabetical correspondence concerning the collection, acquisitions, exhibitions, galleries, other institutions and the general public. Includes considerable correspondence regarding the 1988 The Intimate Interiors of Edouard Vuillard exhibition. Series 3.4 contains interoffice memos which also include information on personnel issues, publications, conservation and publications.
