Bertha's visit to Aurora College in 1958; her trip to Formosa in 1957; correspondence from Effie Pinkham Beals, Bertha's stepmother, with comments by Elsie Kirby; her letter welcoming Elsie Kirby to Japan; some intimate notes to a dear friend, written in the last ten years of her life. She was living in a retirement home run by the Salvation Army in Toronto. A niece lived nearby. Includes priceless material sent by Mrs. Kirby in March, 1990.
