Information about the Marie Wilson Howells donation to the University of Arkansas, including a transcript of a taped interview by friends of Marie Wilson Howells, recorded on 20 October 1981, concerning Mrs. Howells' bequest in 1979 of approximately three million dollars to the University of Arkansas to be used equally in the fields of psychology and psychiatry; with information of special interest regarding the donation to the UAMS Department of Psychiatry/Behavioral Sciences. Those present at the interview were Richard C. Butler, Sr., Jeane Hundley, Horace Jewell, John Peters, and William G. Reese. Dr. Reese's file of correspondence (1967-1985) regarding the donation are included; a cassette tape of the Investiture Ceremony of Dr. Reese as the first Marie Wilson Howells' Professor and Chairman of Psychiatry on 4 May 1982, and transcription of his responses are available; a list of scientific publications, supported in part by the donation from 1981 to 1985, is included.
