Papers document thirty years (1889-1919) of the life of an agricultural implements salesperson, Ray Lewis Badgley. Badgley first worked for his father's implement store in Lake Odessa, Mich., then joined International Harvester Company. Papers contain catalogs, sales agreements, order books, and installment purchase contracts.

Ray Lewis Badgley worked as an agricultural implements salesperson in West Michigan. He was active in fraternal organizations which catered to the traveling salespeople. He also served a tenure as Odessa Township treasurer. In 1900 he joined the International Harvester Co. from which he retired in 1938. From the description of Papers, 1889-1919.
