Papers documenting her architectural designs and book production process. The collection includes plans, elevations, photographs, and detail drawings for many of her home designs, as well as measured drawings for furniture details. Includes photographs, paste-ups and some manuscript material related to the production of her books on Mexican residential architecture and interior design. Also includes miscellaneous personal correspondence, travel diaries, sketchbooks, and published articles by Shipway.

Papers of an American architect who designed homes in suburban New York and California. Born in Spokane, Washington, in 1890, Shipway attended Columbia University, married fellow student Edgar Salomonsky and together they started an architectural firm in 1920. After Salomonsky's death in 1929, Shipway continued to practice architecture, later married Warren Shipway, and moved to California in 1947.
