Frank Abner Merrill collection, 1682-1842.

The Frank Abner Merrill Collection contains papers of the Long and Hills families, two inter-related families of Newbury, Mass., in particular those of Robert Long, Abiel Long, Benjamin Long, and Joseph Hills. Included are deeds and grants of lands in Newbury; an inventory and other papers related to the estate of Robert Long; Abiel Long's will (1718); and powers of attorney and other legal papers. Also, a few scattered papers of various members of the Merrill family. Additional items include a letter from Levi Woodbury to Edward Cutts regarding a wool tariff (1828) and two letters written by Jeremy Belknap.
