Large black and white photographs mounted on paper in an album, depicting scenes in and around Amoy (now Xiamen), China. The album has a table of contents, and the subject of each photograph is identified. The album is bound in green cloth with a black spine label lettered in gold.

Electrical engineer. Charles W. Wason studied mechanical engineering at Cornell University from 1872-1876 and was involved in the Cornell Boat Club and Navy. After leaving Cornell in 1876 he became an electrical engineer and later became prominent in the railroad industry.
