This is a letter written by former president, George Washington concerning land he owned in Kentucky. The letter is addressed to "Mr. Short" in care of General [Alexander] Spotswood. The letter, written from his home at Mount Vernon, concerns taxes Washington owed on his land "on Rough Creek," presumably in what is now Laurel County, Kentucky.
